Before you choose the product, find out what kind of leather tanning and finishing process was used on your boots. Oil-tanned leather should be treated with oil based products. Some Chrome-tanned leather boots should have wax based product applied or sprayed with silicone waterproofing. Contact the boot manufacturer if necessary.
