Water Shield Bottle Sizes
Obenauf's Water Shield is available in two sizes. The 8 ounce bottle comes with a finger pump sprayer providing a fine mist and is about the correct size to spray suede and fabric footwear. Make sure you spray your clean, dry, fabric boot laces as well. This will protect your laces from absorbing moisture and rotting. The 16 ounce bottle comes with a trigger sprayer convenient for waterproofing larger items like horse blankets, tents, etc. For silicone waterproofing spray application tips, click the Application tab.

Odorless Silicone Waterproofing Spray
Providing extended water protection to fabrics, canvas, nylon, suede, and chrome-tanned leather. We use pump sprayer applicators which allow a higher silicone content resulting in a more concentrated formula than aerosol dispensers. This creates a more durable and long lasting water protection. Equestrians have found Water Shield to be an excellent waterproofing spray for horse blankets. In addition, our silicone waterproofing spray is great for marine fabrics, such as soft tops and covers. Second, some horses may be spooked by a smelly waterproofing spray applied to their horse blanket. Obenauf's® Water Shield On Smooth Leather?
In regards to waterproofing leather, the preferred use of Obenauf's® silicone waterproofing would be on chrome-tanned leather boots. Some Chrome leather doesn't require an oil preservative at all. If you aren't sure if your boots are chrome leather, ask the manufacturer.
Water Shield can be used to enhance waterproofing on other smooth leather boots, but we recommend our waterproofing spray be used on them only as an overcoat after leather preservative has been applied. This is because silicone waterproofing is a surfactant and does not have any conditioning ingredients required to restore or preserve full-grain leather.

APPLYING OBENAUF'S SILICONE WATERPROOFING SPRAY
Apply silicone waterproofing in an open, well ventilated area with a fine mist sprayer, approximately 6 inches away in a crisscross pattern to coat evenly, not heavily. Allow 1 hour to cure between applications. Multiple applications increase waterproofing and will last longer. The amount required will depend on the type of fabric, whether natural or synthetic. We recommend up to 4 applications for improved coverage on fabric and a 24 hour waiting period after final application to achieve full water protection. Silicone waterproofing may not adhere to some fabrics. Test in a hidden area if color change is a concern.
WATERPROOFING SPRAY STORAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
To prevent freezing, store above 5 degrees Celsius. In case of freezing, thaw at room temperature before use and shake to reconstitute. Shake well before each use. To avoid clogging, rinse sprayer nozzle with hot water after use. Unscrew nozzle from bottle, place in a cup of water, pump water through sprayer until the spray is clear. Remove from cup, pump out remaining water, replace nozzle back onto bottle.
